Coastal Cleanup Day 2011

Our poor neglected troop blog. :-( I hope to be better this year.

Today we participated in Coastal Cleanup Day 2011. For the past year we have been studying water. When we told the girls to choose a service project they wanted to cleanup the beach. Fantastic idea. I am so proud of them.

What a fun morning. We walked up and down Capitola City Beach and cleaned up! It's a pretty clean beach, but we did still find some trash and one dead bird.

Investiture

We begin our Brownie troop with an Investiture ceremony. The girls worked so hard not only learning the Girl Scout Law and Promise, but they also completed two Try-It's. I'm so proud of all of them.
